The 300 block of Montgomery street is closed to vehicle traffic starting TBD for 30 days. We are still open during our regular hours, and pedestrians can use the sidewalks to walk to our museum and research center. Surrounding blocks and parking garages will still be open for parking.

The Museum
Our museum is free, however, we encourage donations. We have many permanent exhibits covering areas of interest including the Underground Railroad, the Franklin Autombile, local brewing artifacts and early pottery manufacturing in CNY. Additional information about OHA, its school programs, community events, and membership and donation opportunities are available online or at our museum. Our facilities are available to rent for your next company or community event. We are always interested in hearing from you. Call us at (315) 428-1864 ext. 325. Research Tools
Our Research Center:
We are located on the 2nd floor. The reference collection offers patrons access to thousands of files containing information about Onondaga County events, people, and places for historians and genealogical research. The Research Center archives, preserves and makes available original historical documents. Admission is free for OHA members, $7 for non-members and $4 for students.
Research service for our remote patrons is available at $30 per hour, payment received in advance.
The Research Center is open Wednesday-Friday, 10:00-2:00 pm and Saturday 11:00-4:00 pm. The research center is closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Call 315 428-1864 for further information.
Excelsior:
This is an online database of archival holdings. The retrieved listings will give a short written synopsis of materials held in our collection. When you locate subjects of interest, you can come into our reseach center and access the musum collection to review the actual materials referenced. Go to nysl.nysed.gov. Choose "Search HDI," enter Onondaga Historical Association, the word and, and then your search terms. For example, type Onondaga Historical Association and salt or Onondaga Historical Association and Civil War.
